The Water-Growing Method
Instead of the usual method of placing the roots in water, you'll immerse the leaves. Use a clear glass to allow light penetration and fill it with about 4 or 5 cm of water. Use a toothpick to prevent the root from falling in.
Wait and observe. In the first 15 days, you should see small bumps indicating the method is working. In 3 to 4 months, roots several centimeters long will start to appear. Remember to add water as it diminishes in the glass.
Repotting the Orchid
Once the roots reach about 15 cm, it's time to repot your orchid. As the orchid will struggle to grip the soil, use a combination of clay pellets, pine bark, and moss to accelerate root formation.
Use a plastic cup with the bottom cut out as a pot. Place clay balls at the bottom for drainage, followed by pine and moss. Spray the moss generously, then add the orchid. Top it with more pine bark. Your orchid will be reborn here.
